I love New York because there are so many places/precious landmarks that have been featured in famous films and tv shows that we all love to watch. When I was much younger, I would walk over to TIffany's with my $1.50 bagel/coffee special and pretend to be Holly Golightly. I am grateful to always know that, as long as you're in New York, there is always somewhere you can go to feel like you are a part of royalty.

I have always wanted to have a little garden of my own where I could grow peppers, tomatoes and other tiny edible plant species but as you all know, most apartments in NYC don't come equipped with wholesome gardens and cute backyards. To fill my void, I decided to get creative and grow something super easy to maintain.

SUNDAY BRUNCH SPOT NYC - ANTIBES BISTRO - LES GEM

Hidden on Suffolk street between Delancey and Rivington, there lies a cozy and charming little joint called Antibes Bistro. Allan and I wandered from Gramercy to the Lower East Side and couldn't find a place we wanted to have brunch because every place looked like a zoo. Every other restaurant we stopped at seemed so crowded on this particular busy Sunday afternoon, and there were lines of people waiting at every restaurant. After the hostess at the last restaurant we stopped at told me it would be a 45 minute wait, I got super discouraged and almost wanted to just go home and call it quits. Right as I started to get cranky, my hubby really came through and found us this hidden gem!

Be sure to try it out when you're in the area but remember Homies, it's our little secret.

On Sunday, Erin and I went to Guggenheim to get our culture fix on. From Kandinsky to Monet, it was the perfect place to catch up on our boy drama and see beautiful art. It ended up being a wonderful day to be out and about in New York City.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know I can go on Dominique Ansel's website and pre-order them or drag my butt over to Spring street and wait on the never-ending line outside her bakery at the crack of dawn but, I would rather not. To get around all the fuss of waiting, Allan and I picked a rainy Sunday and decided to make our own Cronuts within the confinements of our home sweet home. I scoured the web and found a decent recipe I wanted to use. My boo thang got so excited, he stripped down to his undies for this recipe. I mean let's be real homies, Cronuts are great and all, but nothing tastes as good as naked feels. So don't go nuts for a Cronut. Come over to mi casa, strip down, and Allan will make you a Cronut. Thanks to Sam and her friends last weekend, we kick off the beginning of Spring with an evening of drinking and dancing for a great cause at 55 Gansevoort NYC! It was truly beautiful and so wonderful to see so many of our friends that came out to support the cause and everyone's hard work. #Loyalty 

Sam is the beautiful lady in the red sexy bandage dress (or b&w pic of the hottie dancing) below and she and her friends helped raise over $3,000 via Host Committee to help benefit the Employment Search Skills Program at the NYC Liberty House, a professional development initiative for women who have been victims of domestic violence. Who doesn't love an evening of good times with fabulous company, for a worthy cause?

Best Japanese Restaurant in Brooklyn: Omakase Tasting Menu @ Zenkichi Williamsburg

If you are searching for authenticity, a little piece of Tokyo is available right in the trendy city of Williamsburg Brooklyn. The food and atmosphere at Zenkichi is so fresh and artfully prepared, I am sure the presentation will impress your date for the night. Like they do in Japan, each table is enclosed in it's own isolated room with little curtains so that the diners can enjoy a bit of privacy. Allan and I enjoyed the most romantic dinner, until we got into a fight and ruined the vibe haha. The Zen Japanese aesthetic didn't tame our moods but, we made up and the food was fantastic so it was all good homies. I suggest you take your lover here after a fight rather than fighting during the meal. Also, this aint your average sushi joint so don't expect your local Haru when you walk in.

March 2014 Birchbox Review- Wanna breakup but FOMO Keeps me Hanging On

Underwhelmed by Birchbox lately? After 1.5 years of being a Birchbox subscriber, I want to break up with BB but the fear of missing out keeps me hanging on. I just need one more month so that I can alleviate myself from one more month of FOMO, but really, I'm ready to say adieu.

Last Sunday, my imōto Erika came over and we made some delicious Korean fried rice and a modified version of Disaronno Strawberry shortcake. I got to practice my very rusty Japanese with her, and we giggled our way through all the recipes. Super. Happy. Sunshine. Funtime.

The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show 2014

Over the weekend, Allan and I joined his parents to go see the world's longest-running and largest indoor Flower Show in Philadelphia and had such a great time. The sun was shining and the weather finally started to feel like spring, so it was the perfect weekend to go see some flower art!The floral exhibits made us all that much excited for the warm season to come. We took hundreds of pictures at the show so I am breaking this post up into two parts. Look out for Part II later this week!

50th Anniversary of The Beatles' First US Tour: Morrison Hotel Gallery Soho NYC

Last week, I met up with two of the funniest people I know and went to go chill with the Beatles @ the Morrison Hotel Gallery in Soho.

Rachel (blonde babe) journeyed out to the city all the way from the burbs of CT, and Wifey (you already know) schlepped all the way from Shaolin to play. Last year Rachel's man put a ring on it and made us all super jelly. Now she spends her days working like a boss and making a home for her hubby away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are all super duper excited to attend their wedding this coming May and party with the Zinns. It's going to be a fabulous party and don't worry homies, I'll be sure to report back so you don't miss a thing.
