ARTiculture: The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show 2014 - Part Deux II

“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.”
― William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

Artists and gardeners go together like PB + Jelly, and this year the Philadelphia Flower Show is showcasing just how close the two can be.

"For the 2014 Flower Show, PHS partnered with more than a dozen of the world’s greatest museums including the Getty, the Guggenheim, the Smithsonian, PMA, PAFA and the Barnes Foundation, for an incredible experience at the Convention Center. In this Center City venue, the Show encompasses 33 indoor acres, with exhibit space taking up 10 acres of the main exhibit hall. The Show now entertains more than 265,000 people each year." -PHS

We stumbled upon a bunch of art made of pressed flowers and I was fascinated!
The students made iPod cases made of pressed flowers and they were all pretty cool.

Treasures from Korea
The Arts and Culture of Joseon Dynasty”.  In a series of huge iron circles on large plinths, the exhibit explores facets of Korean culture.  In this design, the hand-shaded fiber sticks emulate the geometry of Hangul, the Korean alphabet.

My Favorite part of the show~!
