The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show 2014

Over the weekend, Allan and I joined his parents to go see the world's longest-running and largest indoor Flower Show in Philadelphia and had such a great time. The sun was shining and the weather finally started to feel like spring, so it was the perfect weekend to go see some flower art!The floral exhibits made us all that much excited for the warm season to come. We took hundreds of pictures at the show so I am breaking this post up into two parts. Look out for Part II later this week!

2014: "ARTiculture"
Experience the combination of art and horticulture as the 185th PHS Philadelphia Flower Show celebrates everyone from Michelangelo to Monet, Picasso to Pollock, and da Vinci to Dali.
The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is held in the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 12th & Arch Streets in Center City Philadelphia

This picture was taken at the Dreamcatcher/Matrix: "Walk underneath the cosmic dreamcatcher and search for the hidden message in this out-of-this-world design. Explore a futuristic reality that captures glimpses of the cosmos caught and woven on a rebar web creating the perfect atmosphere for floral sculpture. Based on an exhibit at the Grounds for Sculpture, this display uses mixture of textures, shapes, and colors, to look at things in a new way."

"All my life I have tried to pluck a thistle and plant a flower wherever the flower would grow in thought and mind."
-Abraham Lincoln

Boo thang is proud because his company is a sponsor of this show.

"The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is an annual event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in March. It is the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show, attracting more than 260,000 people annually. The Show features large-scale gardens, elaborate landscapes, and over-the-top floral creations.
Visitors to the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show are treated to fabulous design, live entertainment, culinary demonstrations, gardening how-to workshops, and lectures by experts. Show week begins with an exclusive black-tie Preview Party and After Party, one of Philadelphia’s premier events.
Proceeds from the Show support PHS, particularly the City Harvest program, which feeds more than 1,200 families each week during the growing season." -PHS

Too bad Allan left his favorite grey beanie at the show when we left. Oops.

These are my boo's parents. Aren't they precious?

The flowers were absolutely breathtaking of course. I wish I had a garden in my apartment where I could plant beautiful flowers and delicious fruit/veg baring plants!

The Convention Center was buzzing with people right and left. The entire space was filled with people within minutes and I hear people come to see this show from all across the country!

This was just a taste.
Come back tomorrow for the rest of the show!
Good Luck with Mondee Homies.

XOXO
