ABC Kitchen - Easy as 123

Remember my handsome, fabulous, and super smart friend Jon? Well Mr. Smarty pants and I went on a little dinner date to ABC Kitchen located on east 18th street between Broadway, and South Park Avenue in New York City. This restaurant is one of roughly over 6,000 restaurants opened around the world by world renown French chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who resides in NYC. This delightful gem is a magnet for the "chic crowd of fashionable movers and shakers" like Patrick Demarchelier and Hugh Jackman.

So good, we'll eat off their carpet

ABC kitchen prides themselves on being an "aggressively green" Restaurant similar to the Blue Hill Restaurant, who get's all their ingredients from their own organic farms.

"Everything here is: Fair trade! Globally artistic! Reclaimed and recycled! Soy-based! Post-consumer fiber!...The notion of the place is haute organic and Hamptons sustainable. The restaurant is airy and open and relaxed the way the second homes of the wealthy often are, with LED-style lighting over warm floors. Ingredients for the cooking, as a position paper on the back of the chic cardboard menu declares, are “consciously sourced.” The breadbaskets were “handcrafted by the indigenous Mapuche people of Patagonia. On ABC Kitchen-NY Times

Sexy Entrance, for sexy people.
Clean and romantic.
Jon and I giggled at the table because we felt like we were on the set of Laguna Beach, or The Hills, and kept looking around for a Lauren Conrad or Brody Jenner.

Jon ordered a Basil Lime Daiquiri - Papago Yo Rum and fresh lime juice
I had a Vermont Gold Thyme Lemonade
IT IS MY FAVORITE LEMONADE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!
Tangy, light, crisp, Sparkly = Heavenly Cocktail
To start, we ordered the Raw Diver Scallops, sea beans, green chilis, and spring herbs
It came like a carpaccio and was perfectly delightful! Each piece melted in our mouths and was bursting with a citrus flavor.
I asked Jon what he thought of this dish...

This was his superb/magical face he used to describe his feelings about the food...
Orgasmic!

We also ordered the Pretzel Dusted Calamari, with marinara and mustard aioli.
It was really good.

Jon and I decided to share everything. So far, the appetizers were delicious! Now on to the main course :)

Mushroom Whole Wheat Pizza - Parmesan, Oregano, and Farm Egg
The Pizza was quite large and delicious!
But the best part of the meal hadn't even arrived yet...

until it did.

Ta da!

Roast Suckling Pig - Braised Turnip and Smoked Bacon Marmalade.

We were Blown Away!
They actually cut the entree into halves and placed them onto two separate plates inside the kitchen, so that Jon and I could share the plate easily. So, if you were to eat this slice of heaven alone, you will receive a larger portion than this picture. Don't worry, no Judgement. Just envy.

Each piece of pork I broke into with my fork, just slid off the crispy skin like strings of pulled pork. The bacon marmalade was harder but just perfectly so, to create contrast against the softness of the main pork. The turnips complimented the dish well, and with each bite, it cleansed my palate so it would be ready for the next bite of meat.
By the end of our meal, we were just too stuffed to each get our own dessert, so we shared a piece of delightful Berry Pie. Looks more like a tart, but delicious nonetheless.
Jon and I had the most splendid time, laughing, gossiping, and catching up with each other about our lives. The setting was just so warm and romantic, we couldn't help mentioning how much our significant others would have also loved to dine with us at ABC Carpet. There's always a next time!

After our spectacular and filling meal, we went for a stroll and stopped for a picture. The staff at Rothmans were super cute, and we got photo bombed by them haha.
Looking Dapper as always :)
And what did I wear to our fab dinner, you ask?
Simply No. 1 Tee from Zara / Double Zip Prada Tote / Studded Ankle Boots by Steve Madden / Levi Skinny Jeans

Also wore my cute little mouse earrings from Chloe + Isabel
You can buy them from my boutique by clicking the link above :)

Jon and I highly recommend you all to go and light it up at ABC Kitchen. You won't regret it!
