Birchbox Man: Get it for your Man this Valentine's day: January 2014 Review

Thinking of getting your man a Birchbox Man Subscription for Valentine's Day? I say go for it! Birchbox Man cost $20 per month and Birchbox Women cost $10 a month, and I'm thinking that the $10 difference makes a huge difference in quality.

The quality of Birchbox Man is far superior to the women's subscriptions and I am a bit jelly that my man gets better grooming material than I do. I stole Allan's man box this month so that I could blog about it haha. See homies I got yo back! You get to see what Allan got before he even gets a peek at it. Allan could say what he wants but, I think this month's box is great for him because they include products that he really needs, and/or are super useful. Also, you can see that all of Allan's samples are at least 1.0 oz and products that come in Womens BB end up being like .05 - .25 oz and come in shitty packets.

I think this "Special Offer" in particular is super awesome! Perfect opportunity for our dudes to get great deals and date ideas.

Since my boo shaves almost everyday, I think this shave cream will definitely be useful. Allan Loves the Art of Shaving Kit but, he is definitely open to trying Schulz & Malley. Who knows, he may switch over if he loves it. I'll keep you posted if he does Homiez.

Old-timers might swear by a four-step shave, but some men prioritize results over rituals. For those who shave without a brush, this cream offers the closest cut this side of a badger hair. Its botanical formula stands up stubble, while soothing skin to get the jump on postshave irritation. After all, while you may not have time for a barbershop shave, you deserve the same results.

This lotion is awesome because it is almost scentless and I am always yelling at my boo to moisturize. No one likes an Ashy man. I must stuff this in his Dunhill briefcase so he can moisturize on his way to work.

From non-stick cookware to wrinkle-free shirts, we take special pleasure in products with no need for fine print. This universal moisturizer is made with organic ingredients sourced from the Australian bush, so it’s safe to use on any and all skin types. No more tiresome Googling and endless lists of chemicals: just crazy healthy skin.

You can never have enough of these lens wipes. Allan and I both wear spectacles.

I think this is the best product in the box for Allan. Allan's scalp gets super dry in the winter so we have been looking for something that will help moisturize his head a bit more than the normal shampoo/conditioner. This bottle smells fantastic and lucky for me, this product is unisex so I might snag it if Allan doesn't use it.

Sachajuan Hair Repair

Sachajuan Hair Repair

A healthy mane is a wonderful thing, and we should all be thankful for each hair on our crowns. If you really want to shout it, this unique hair treatment is a perfect show of gratitude. It fortifies hair by stimulating cell regeneration, producing smoother, stronger locks after a single application. Use it regularly, and the long-lasting results will make you never want to stop.

This bar of soap does smell real good and it retails at $10 per bar wowza. I tend to use only bottled soap for sanitary reasons in my house but nice to have in case a guest needs something to wash up with!

Sometimes bar soap can get a bad rap, but today’s bars are anything but the skin-drying, pH level-altering soaps of yore. These moisturizing bars are filled with nourishing, good-for-you ingredients, and leave behind subtle scents inspired by the sights, sounds, and smells of Argentina.

This bottle opener is what really made this month's box sweet. This baby retails at $14 and our house can never have enough bottle openers. This opener is also super cool and manly looking, don't ya think? This one in particular is great because it doesn't look like a normal opener so it will deter a thief from walking away with it at your next apartment party. Can't ignore that the magnet feature is super innovative and useful at the same time. It also has amazing reviews, and reviews don't lie Homies.

Using your teeth to open a beer bottle displays your skills and resourcefulness, except that it’s almost guaranteed to result in a trip to the dentist. Better to wield a piece of clever craftsmanship like this bottle opener. With a streamlined design, the opener has a built-in magnet that keeps caps from going flying and also lets you affix it to your fridge so it’s there when you need it.
