50th Anniversary of The Beatles' First US Tour: Morrison Hotel Gallery Soho NYC

Last week, I met up with two of the funniest people I know and went to go chill with the Beatles @ the Morrison Hotel Gallery in Soho.

Rachel (blonde babe) journeyed out to the city all the way from the burbs of CT, and Wifey (you already know) schlepped all the way from Shaolin to play. Last year Rachel's man put a ring on it and made us all super jelly. Now she spends her days working like a boss and making a home for her hubby away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are all super duper excited to attend their wedding this coming May and party with the Zinns. It's going to be a fabulous party and don't worry homies, I'll be sure to report back so you don't miss a thing.

Ok so back to the gallery :) Located in the center of New York's fashionable SoHo district, The Morrison Hotel Gallery is located on the second floor of the coziest loft on Prince Street. The current exhibit is a small collection of pictures celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' first US tour. I told Rachel as soon as I heard about it since she is a die hard Beatles fan. The collection is small so you can see everything in 15 minutes or so.

"The Morrison Hotel® gallery is about people. Founded in 2001 by former record company executive and producer Peter Blachley, music industry professional Richard Horowitz, and music photographer Henry Diltz, The Morrison Hotel® Gallery, which represents world renowned photographers, has grown to become the place to purchase fine art music photography. As you view some of the most inspiring and iconic images of music and musicians photographed over the last fifty-plus years, think about the people who existed on both sides of the lens. The photographers had no idea what they were creating or how historic the imagery would become. It is a one-second click of the shutter that creates a timeless moment in our lives."

They let me take a few photos just for you homies:

This one is one of my favorite pictures. "On this day The Beatles were taken to the training camp of boxer Cassius Clay - later known as Muhammad Ali - who was preparing for his 25 February fight against heavyweight champion Sonny Liston." -BeatlesBible

Look at my sexy wifey <3

Like I said before, it was a small but cute exhibit.
After a quick walk through, we scurried on over to our favorite Vietnamese joint in Chinatown called Thai Son for din din. I have been going there for almost 10 years now and they never disappoint. You cant go wrong with cheap, fast and delicious food!

We get the same dish every time we visit. Bo Luc Lac (beef cubes) and an order of Vietnamese Spring Rolls!

Seriously though. Your meal including these items will only cost you around $10 ($3.50 small order of spring rolls and $6.50 for the Small order of beef cubes).
It's not the most glamorous place but all of my friends and fam loved the recommendation.
If you are ever in the area, you have to try the food. They have an extensive list of Vietnamese dishes like Pho and their summer rolls are also to die for. They don't take reservations and they are always busy during Lunch and Dinner hours but, they are also super efficient and the wait has never been over 15 mins. I'm drooling just thinking about their food!
